We've been talking about opening up our living room and dining room by removing a separating wall for a long time but finally decided it was time to just do it!

I had off from work so Katie went to spend the day with Mom-Mom and Maddie and we got to work...

So in a moment of pure insanity I agreed to let Katie take her shopping cart to Giant this morning to go food shopping. I don't know what came over me, normally I would have never gone for that! Katie had a great time though and was really good. Of course, it took MUCH longer to do the shopping though, 2 hours for $100 in groceries. Oy vey! LOL

Jared's 5th Birthday

Tonight we went to Chick-Fil-A for Jared's 5th birthday party. Katie had a great time playing with Jared, Angie, their cousins Logan, Isabelle and Elliot, and the other kids. She barely came out of the playland the whole time we were there - just to refuel with chicken nuggets and cake!

Literally! LOL Katie was playing her keyboard and then replaying it and dancing to her own music. Maybe she'll carry her musical talent with her as she gets older and she can play in Carnegie Hall someday like Daddy did, :-). (She certainly didn't get any musical talent from me! lol)

BTW, she was celebrating St. Patty's Day a little early today. Don't mind the wet shoulder... we had to clean the dress a little bit, there was a "johncident" with a juice box!

Night at the "Theater"

We went to see Annie at the middle school tonight with Jenine, Kelly, Liam, and their Aunt Maria and Uncle Joe. It was Katie's first play and I wasn't sure she'd sit through it all but she did pretty good. She sat really well through the 1st Act but about mid-way through the 2nd Acct Katie and Liam had had enough so I spent the rest of the play in the foyer with them where they had plenty of fun running all around. :-) Kelly on the other hand was totally engrossed the whole time!

As soon as we got home from the play, guess what movie we had to watch...

Potty Training Update - 2 Months!

Today is 2 months since we threw away Katie's diapers and started potty training and I'm happy to report things are going great! Katie only wears Pull-Ups at nap and at bedtime and probably could go to panties full-time. So in the next couple of weeks I'll transition her out of them at nap time first and then we'll work up to bedtime. I'm not rushing to get rid of the bedtime Pull-Up though because although she is dry 99% of the time when she wakes up, it's nice to have the "just-in-case" there. She did wear panties to bed when she slept at Mom-Mom's house 2 weeks ago and was fine but I'm not that brave yet. (Who wants to change sheets at 2am? LOL)

On Friday, her school sent home all of the Pull-Ups they had there so I guess she's a full-fledged member of "The Potty Club" at school now too. :-)

Just Like Daddy

Katie insisted that she had to wear her pajama shorts to bed and I couldn't figure out why because she never usually likes to wear them. Then while we were snuggling before bed she said "only me and my Dad wear shorts to bed!" AHA! She wanted to wear the shorts to be just like Daddy... how cute!!! :-)

Jessie's Girl

Move over Rick Springfield, Jessie's got a new girl! Katie is obsessed (to put it mildly) with Toy Story 2 and Jessie the Yodelin' Cowgirl. For almost 2 months now, we've been watching the movie about 2 times a day. I can practically recite it in my sleep but Katie never tires of it. So Joseph decided to send Katie a present from the boat and it arrived today.
