No pics from today, sorry! But just a quick update on the day's events... Ryan developed a fever over night and the neonatologist wasn't sure what was causing the fever. His bloodwork came back showing antibodies that were fighting some kind of infection. Around 2:30, the doctor came into our room and told us they needed to do a spinal tap to rule out meningitis since they weren't able to tell where the infection. Talk about scary! :-( Luckily the results came back negative!
The doctor wasn't sure if the fever was possibly being caused by a virus instead of a bacterial infection so he was started on an antiviral med as well as a stronger antibiotic. He had already been on one since birth as a precaution.
By tonight, he seemed to be doing a lot better. The fever broke at some point in the afternoon and didn't come back so it seems he's over that hurdle, thank God! :-)
