Good Job Mommy

We are potty training Katie and always give her some praise when she goes on the potty. Tonight I put Katie to bed and then I had to go to the bathroom. Katie called from her room, "What are you doing Mommy?". I said "I'm going potty." Katie: "Ok". So then after I was finished, I hear her call out "Good job Mommy!" Hmm, do I get a sticker too?

Princesses

Tonight me and Katie were driving home and Katie was really quiet for a while (a rarity!). Then all of the sudden, out of no where she said "Me and Juli are princesses." I said "Really?" and she said "yeah..." (trailing off). And that was the end of that conversation.

Um, ok, so tell us something we didn't already know! :-)

Katie wanted to type too!

We might be on to something here...

The past three nights Katie has gone willingly into her room at bedtime, laid right down, fell asleep, and slept 12 hours. (After way too many nights of screaming and winding up in our room in the middle of the night!) On Friday, I even had to wake her to go to school, which she was not too thrilled about. The catch... she only wants to sleep on the floor! Every night I try to convince her to sleep in the bed and she isn't interested. So we set up her blanket on the floor and she goes right to sleep! I'm not too worried, Maddie did the same thing for a long time but she sleeps in her bed just fine now. I'm sure eventually Katie will realize the bed is actually more comfy!

Katie's new favorite thing to do... color, draw, and use stickers! Keeps her busy, quiet, and in one place for a long time. (I like this new hobby! LOL)

A Pick Me Up

So I'm not sure this will be as funny in words as it was in person but...

I was doing the dishes and Katie was hanging out in the kitchen with me. All of the sudden I hear her making straining noises. "Uggggghhhhhh!!!!" "Uggggghhhhhh!!!!" I turned around and saw her squatting down on the floor like a sumo wrestler with her hands behind her knees, pulling on her legs with all her might.

I said "WHAT are you doing???" As serious as could be, she said "I'm trying to pick myself up!" LOL

She was trying to lift herself up with her hands and couldn't figure out why she couldn't get herself off of the ground. So funny!!!

Livi's Baptism

On Sunday, Olivia was baptized and James and Sandy had a party at their house to celebrate. We had a great time and there was plenty of yummy food and a beautiful cake (thanks to Nonna!). There are some other pics of the day on Livi's site if you want to check them out!

Water Park Fun

So I'm a week behind but last Sunday, Aunt Karen and Maddie took Katie to the water park on the boardwalk. Maddie's friend Cianna was down the shore also so she and her mom, Christine, went with them. Everyone had a great time! Aunt Karen got a new digital camera that can take pictures under water. It's pretty cool and she was able to take some really neat pictures!

This past Saturday we went to Cape May with Mom-Mom, Aunt Karen, and Maddie. We walked along the main shopping area but didn't get to do much else because we got a late start and Katie was really tired. We had fun though and it was nice having some "girl time" with everyone! :-)
