The Big Apple

Today me and Karen took Katie up to The Big Apple (aka NYC) to look for a trim for my dress for Karen's wedding. Katie kept asking when we were going to eat the big apple. I told her there was not really a big apple but she wasn't too sure about that! It was ridiculously hot but she was a real trooper, and stayed awake the whole time. When we got in the car, she crashed right away though! (By the way, didn't find a trim we liked so I guess it's on to Philly's garment district now.)
On our way back from the city, we stopped by to visit Daddy for a little bit. Katie had a lot of fun but she wanted to go in the water in the worst way! It was a challenge keeping her in one place on the dock.

Katie got to feed the duckies with Mommy, Daddy, and Kevin (Daddy's deckhand) and that was a lot of fun, but she kept eating more of the bread than she was giving them. I had to clutch her dress so tightly to keep her from taking a swim with the ducks!

After we visited with Daddy for a little bit, we went to Chevy's Mexican restaurant. Katie ate Aunt Karen's black beans and she LOVED them! She had a fit when we tried to take them away and clean her up. I'm not sure how much she actually ate because she managed to get them everywhere else!

Well, it only took 2 weeks!

Ok, so it took 2 weeks to get around to writing again! But then again I haven't even told anyone about the blog yet so it's not like there's people out there waiting for my next exciting post...

Here's some pictures of Katie from yesterday and today. Her hair getting so long, I even put it in two little buns today. She looked so cute... and grown up! :-( Katie reminds me so much of Maddie when her hair is in the braids, that's how Maddie's hair was done a lot of the time when she was little (now she'll barely let you brush it, lol).

Anyway, here they are...

So, I just noticed that all 4 pics are of Katie eating! She doesn't eat all the time, LOL. These are all in the morning while she's having breakfast in our mad rush to get her to school and me to work.

Ok, we'll finally give it a try!

So Sandy has motivated me to finally try to keep up on a blog about our oh-so-exciting life, LOL. I signed up and started one a while back but then never got any further than that. We even got our own website - www.grapevinegeneral.com - but then haven't put it to use. So this blog will be linked through that site. If you go there or to http://grapevinegeneral.blogspot.com directly, you'll be able to find us. I think grapevinegeneral.com is much easier to remember though!

So let's see how it goes this time around! Hopefully I'll be better with updating than I have been with pages in the past. I figure this is a nice, easy way to share some pictures of our family and keep everyone up-to-date.
