Nerdy Girl

This was at Mom-Mom's house tonight but it was so cute I decided to put it in a post all by itself. Katie went to "do some work on the computer" and we were in the dining room trying to take the leaf out of the table. Karen and Chris were in the basement and when they came up this is what they found at the computer desk. She decided to put on Mom-Mom's reading glasses to see better and was pecking away at the keys. Too cute!

Oh my god, my eye!!!

Joseph was playing with the macro setting tonight and somehow we started taking close up pictures of our eyes. I know, we're dorks and we need to get a life, LOL, but it was pretty cool anyway. See if you can name that eye!

The eyes of Karen, Joseph, Maddie, Denise, and Chris... (not necessarily in that order!)

Happy Birthday Mom and Joseph!

We went over to Mom-Mom and Pop's house for dinner tonight and to sing Happy Birthday to Mom and Joseph. She decided she'd rather go to Punta Cana for her birthday than be home with us so we celebrated a few days early. We didn't get to celebrate Joseph's birthday much because of the holidays and then he went back to the boat on the 6th so we're trying to catch up with our celebrating this time, :)

What'd You Say?

Katie has been getting ear infections right on top of each other for a while now so the her pediatrician referred us to the ENT specialist (ear, nose, throat). He recommended tubes in her ears and removing her adenoids. We decided just to do the tubes for now and then we'll decide on the adenoids removal in the next few months. Katie can sometimes put old men to shame with her snoring so having them removed would help with that but lately the snoring hasn't been too bad so we're not in a rush.

The whole procedure from when they took her back for anesthesia to when we were able to go back to the recovery area to see her was about 15 minutes. Quick and painless! Everything went smoothly and Katie was back to school the next day. Hopefully this puts an end to the ear infections now! *fingers crossed*
Waiting to get called back for anthesia
She looks scared but really she was just getting bored.
Mommy found some crayons and Katie was excited to color!

What an Angel

Katie has been itching to play in the snow but we haven't really had much yet this season. On Monday it finally snowed about 3 inches and she was ready to get out there and make some angels. Unfortunately we didn't get home from Poppy's until late on Monday night so we had to wait until tonight to play. Katie had a great time but I was freezing so we didn't stay out too long, which she was not too happy about but hey, my fingers were about to fall off! :-)
Mom, this is how you make a snow angel!

Sister-To-Be

The hospital has a program for the big brothers and sisters-to-be to help them get ready for the arrival of their new little family member. Katie and I went tonight and she learned all about what Bubba is doing while he's in my belly (she thought it was funny that he burps in there!) and what life will be like once he's born. They pretended to change a diaper and Katie did a pretty good job. She told me after that her job is going to be to put the 'sticky things 'on while someone holds the diaper down for her. I wonder how long that will last, LOL.

We went up to the nursery and they brought 2 babies to the door for the kids to see a 'real' baby. Katie was completely mesmerized by the 'itty bitty babies' as she called them (and I have to agree - they were both only 5lbs, 6ozs!). When she told Daddy about the night she said the "babies cried, they cried a lot..." I told her to get used to that for a while, lol.

I must be feeling brave today...

I took some pictures of my 'baby bump' today which I haven't really done the whole pregnancy because I have plenty of 'bump' without the baby in there. I was shocked when I looked at the pictures. I feel like I haven't changed at all but apparently I was wrong! It'll be nice after I have the baby and I'm 'skinny' again, LOL!

My point of view

Under the 6 Week Mark

In less than 6 weeks, we'll be back at this stage again...

I can't believe she was so 'tiny' (at 9lbs, 2ozs - LOL!)

Herding Cats

It would have been easier to do than get all 4 girls smiling and looking at the camera at the same time, LOL. We decided to take the girls before Bubba is born since we never got around to getting a picture of all of them since Livi was born. It was certainly interesting to say the least! Livi was afraid of the camera guy, Juli and Katie were being really silly, and the one picture where we managed to have Juli, Katie, and Livi all looking and smiling, Maddie looked scared because Livi was about to rock right over her legs. Here's some of the pics (unedited & uncropped):
This one cracked us up because it pretty much sums up
Livi's feelings about the whole photo shoot!
There was a bunch of nice ones of Juli in this pose so I couldn't decide on just one to put on here

Don't Forget to Hit "Older Posts'

I added a ton of new entries over the past 2 days so be sure to hit 'Older Posts' at the bottom of the page so you can see them all!

Bubba's "Nursery" is finished and Katie got a new room out of it too!

We finally got to do the nursery this past weekend. It's also going to stay our computer room for a while until we find a new home for the computer stuff. First we were looking for new furniture for the baby's room but then we decided to redo Katie's room instead. We figured something special just for her might help her with the adjustment of adding a new member to our family. So we gave her a 'big girl room' and passed her baby bureau down to Bubba. Katie was super excited about this idea and has been enjoying her new stuff, especially that she's now allowed to draw and color in her room whenever she wants. This is of course until the first time she draws on the wall or something, LOL.

I don't know if there's any connection but we've been trying to get her to fall asleep on her own in her bed for some time now and haven't had much luck. Well, we put all of the new furniture into her room last Friday night and since then she's gone to sleep on her own each night except 1 (because she fell asleep in the car and then woke up confused when we tried to lay her down). So hopefully this is a continuing 'big girl' trend! :-)

It's so big that we were able to put the new bureau in the closet to give her more room to play.
(I still need to do some organizing in here but ran out of steam!)
