Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt.
Joseph was talking to Katie about how she used to spend her days with him when she was little, pre daycare. She was so engrossed in an episode of Handy Manny that she wasn't even really paying attention to him. Finally he said "and remember when monkeys used to fly out of your butt?" to see if she would even notice. (Any Wayne's World fans will get the reference, LOL) Finally, that caught her attention.
Her response:
Noooooooo! (with a tone of "how ridiculous!")
long pause...
Then she turned to me and said "Mom, monkeys can't fly right?"
So it would seem that she thinks it's possible that monkeys could come out of her butt, just not fly out of there! LOL

Dance Between The Raindrops
Today turned out to be a beautiful day, in between the rain! The forecast was originally for rain all day but it wound up raining in the morning then clearing up again until about 6pm when some seriously scary storms blew in. We went to the mall to get the kids' Easter outfits early afternoon and then decided to head to a park to enjoy the good weather while it lasted. We went to the "Blue Playground" in Northampton. Katie and I went there last year with Casey and Kirstin and it's a great place for little kids because the whole playground is geared towards 2-5 year olds. Of course when we got there, Ryan wanted to eat so I spent my time under the pavilion with him, feeding him and trying to keep him out of the path of the wind that started blowing in. Katie and Joseph had a great time in the playground. They tried every single thing!
Ryan's first trip to the playground. Clearly he was not impressed! LOL

Happy 30th Birthday Kelly!
Tonight was my first night out since Ryan was born. Joseph stayed home with the kids and I went to Kelly's 30th birthday party at Finnegan's Wake. We all had a good time! Most people would think this isn't a big deal, LOL, but I even drank beer! (after the mixed drinks started tasting too sweet) I haven't drank beer in a long time, long enough that Rudy doesn't think she ever saw me drink a beer before! Jenine told me after Liam was born she got into drinking beer again. This could be a trend... After the 2nd kid, beer comes back into the picture! :-)
Surprise!

Story Time
Katie wanted to read Ryan a story this morning so she drug a chair in from her room and got herself set up in front of the swing. She read some of the book and sung some of the songs in it. All the while Ryan just enjoyed his swing, paying her no mind. It's ok, she didn't notice he wasn't paying attention and she was so proud of herself for reading to him.

Our "Squirrel" Feeder
Well, it's supposed to be a bird feeder but Joseph and I are pretty sure the squirrels will get to it first!
UPDATE: Two days later both pine cones had mysteriously disappeared! We don't know if the birds or squirrels got them but Joseph's working on a new improved design for next time, :-).
Ready to get started
Helping Daddy stake the flag pole in front of the house.
Hopefully the squirrels will have a hard time getting up that pole
and the birds will get to enjoy the food instead!
Hanging the pinecone bird feeders
Thanks to Juli for the bird seed!Hopefully the squirrels will have a hard time getting up that pole

The Godfather
We finally got Chris to (reluctantly) hold Ryan last night. We wanted to ask him to be Ryan's godfather so when Karen was bugging him to hold the baby I said "C'mon, you have to hold your godson!". Whoosh, right over his head, LOL. He didn't catch on to what I was hinting at but Karen finally filled him in and he accepted. So now he'll get a "son", :-). Aunt Sandy is going to be Ryan's godmother. Now we just need to figure out a date to get him christened...
Happy Birthday Aunt Karen and Rudy!
We finally got to celebrate Aunt Karen and Rudy's birthday last night at Poppy's house. Karen's birthday party was supposed to be on the 18th (of February!) but Ryan decided to interrupt that plan! Oh well, Aunt Karen better get used to it now that she's got to share her actual day with him. At least Two Mom-Mom is off the hook now for hearing about how she "stole" Karen's birthday (even though it was hers long before Karen came along!). Ryan will have to take the abuse for years to come, LOL.
Rudy made a delicious cake. It got the thumbs up (and seconds) from all of us!

Corned Beef and Cabbage
That's what was on the menu tonight to celebrate St. Patty's Day and it was mmm, mmm good! :-) The kids were decked out in their green Irish outfits today but Ryan must've had too much too drink because he puked all over his by mid-afternoon! I tried taking their picture together but it wasn't working out too well so I had to go with solos instead.

Happy 6th Birthday Jared!
We helped Jared celebrate his 6th birthday at Burger King today while Bubba hung out with Aunt Sandy, Uncle James, Juli & Livi. Katie had a great time playing in the huge playland with Angie and Isabelle. She also got to take a tour of the "behind the scenes" action at BK and made her own burger. All of the kids, especially Dave (Jared's dad, lol), loved that part!
Burger Queen
Checking out the flame broiler.
Katie wasn't in this pic because even though she told Nicole she wasn't afraid of ANYTHING about 2 minutes earlier, she was afraid of the flame in the broiler and was hiding in the corner!
The Birthday Burger
A promising career path? LOL
(I hope not!)
I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes...

Little Old Man
I bought Ryan this outfit the other day that reminds me of something my grandpop (Poppy's dad) would have worn so I've dubbed it his "little old man" outfit, LOL. I put it on him today and he looks so darn cute!
First we took a bath. It started out ok but then Ryan realized he was hungry...
