Our "Swim Club"
Today Dave, Karen, Angie and Jared came over to visit since the kids weren't able to play when I stopped by their house on Wed night. Juli came over too to join in the swimming fun. The kids had a great time playing together!
Trying out their new "gobbles" as Juli says, :)
I don't remember what made them make this face but I had to post it because they both look so funny!

Happy Father's Day!
James and Sandy came over tonight with the girls for a Father's Day BBQ. Katie, Juli and Livi had a great time playing on the slide and swing set while the grown-ups snacked on some yummy BBQ food. Joseph and I made pulled pork for the first time and it was so good! I can't wait to have some of the leftovers, :-).
Katie trying to go under Juli to get over to the 'drive'
My camera died since I hadn't charged it after the concert last night so I don't have too many pictures, :-(.

Fruit Cakes!
I think that would be a good way to describe the thousands of people (us included) standing in the pouring rain waiting for Jimmy Buffett!
For Father's Day, Sandy and I got James and Joseph tickets to the Jimmy Buffett concert at Citizen's Bank Park. We were lucky to get 17th row seats and they were awesome! G Love & Special Sauce, a Philly band, opened for Jimmy. Then right before he was going to come on stage a huge thunder/lightning storm rolled in and SOAKED us!
We were all holding out for Jimmy to come on stage but they finally made an announcement for everyone on the field to take cover on the mezzanine level "for your own safety" so we had to trek up there and then everyone was packed in like sardines until the storm blew over. After the heaviest part of the storm moved out, we made it back to our seats and the show went on. It was well worth the wait!!! :-)

He was dancing too but I missed that pic.

Then came the rain...
I wish I could have taken more pics of how hard it was raining but the camera would have been ruined. It rained about 1" in an hour!
James "waiting for a bus" on the mezzanine.
(Some crabby old hag was complaining about everyone just standing there and said that - as if we had any where to go!)

Jimmy visited the USS Harry Truman, based out of Norfolk, VA in Dubai a few months ago. Tonight they were at the concert so he played "Son of a son of a sailor" in their honor.
The Phillie Phanatic even stopped by to rock out with Jimmy!

At the end of the show, there was a big fireworks display!
I have some other videos to upload too but I'm having a problem playing them to figure out what's what so I'll have to add them later! For more pics, check out James and Sandy's blog.

Four Eyes
I love you the most...
When someone says I love you to Katie, she responds with "I love you more!". Joseph and I follow up with "I love you the most!". Then for some reason Katie says "I love you the light of the moon of the light!". I don't really know what that means but it's cute, :-)

Idiots!
Driving in the car yesterday...
Katie: Mrs. King (a teacher at her school) calls us idiots!
Me: [thinking "Did she really just say the teacher calls them idiots???] What?
Katie: She calls us idiots.
Me: When does she say that?
Katie: When she sings us a song. [singing] 5 little idiots...
Me: Um, do you mean INDIANS?
Katie: Yeah, indians! [as if she had been saying indians all along!]
LOL

Chrissy's Bridal Shower
Today we had Chrissy and Jen's bridal showers. I was sitting next to Chrissy while she opened gifts so I didn't take any more pics than these three but Sandy took a ton for me. Once I get them on CD, I'll post more!
When I picked up the cakes and checked them out to make sure everything looked good, it said Chrissy and Steve, LOL. Then they didn't have the same green anymore so John's name wound up in a different color.
Just like John, always gotta be different!!! :-)

What's Cookin', Good Lookin'?
We've hit our first heat wave of the year and it looks like it won't be below 90 until after Tuesday! Today we went shopping at Target to get a few things before hitting Jenine and Chris' house for a dip in their pool! When we came out of the air conditioning into the nasty thick hot air, Katie turned to me and said "Mommy, it feels like someone is cooking something!" Umm, yeah, that's just US baking in the hot, hot sun!!! :-)

She's Got Me All Figured Out
Tonight we had a lot of errands to run after I picked Katie up from school. By the time we were heading home it was close to 7 already and we hadn't eaten dinner yet. Katie asked if we could go for a walk. I knew we wouldn't have time because once we finished eating it would be just about bed time but I didn't want to tell her no right then (b/c I knew she would have a fit about it) so I said "Maybe. Let's go home and eat dinner first. Then we'll see..." So she came back with "We'll eat dinner and THEN you'll tell me no?"
LOL, guess she's already figured out that my "Maybe" and "We'll see..." usually means no but is my nice way of letting her down easy!
