Happy 7th Birthday Angie (and happy bday Karen M. too!)

Today we went to Angie's birthday party at Johnson's Corner Farm in NJ. We weren't sure it was going to go on because it was raining pretty hard before we left for the party but luckily the rain pretty much held off... except for when we got out to the strawberry field to pick our strawberries! The rain started as soon as we got off the tractor ride and it downpoured most of the time we were picking but it was a lot of fun! :-)
Our Lil' Sunflowers! :-)
Check out that 'smile'. She wasn't sure whether to be excited or scared about the tractor ride we were about to take!
All the kids on the tractor. Katie was glued to my lap though, lol.

Quick Aunt Karen, grab that big one while no one is looking!Fine, I guess the farm thing is fun!

I bet they'll sleep good tonight!

Swim Time

Today it was ridiculously humid (it was NOT like that in Myrtle Beach!) so Joseph and I decided we wanted to buy Katie (ok, all of us) a pool for this year. We decided on a 10 ft, 30" pop-up pool - tall enough that Joseph and I can sit in it to cool off and shallow enough that Katie can play and stand in it without having to actually swim.

We picked Katie up from school early today and surprised her with the pool. She loved it!

Wondering what the 'surprise' would be
"It's my pool!"
She wanted to get in it right away and there wasn't even water in it yet, LOL
Joseph and Katie hopped in while it was filling up but it was so cold, I decided to stay out.Katie about to take a spill out of the float ring!
Katie finally convinced me to get in. I was only numb from the cold for a few minutes!
What do you mean swim time is over???
Katie stripped off her bathing suit and couldn't understand why I didn't want her running around the yard naked!
I guess the pool wore her out because this is what happened while watching Mary Poppins tonight.
Katie rarely falls asleep before she gets to her bed, so she must've been really tired!

Myrtle Beach

This past weekend, Joseph and I had our first 'adult' vacation since Katie was born. We had a great time in Myrtle Beach visiting Jeff and from the sounds of it, Katie had just as much fun with Mom-Mom and Pop, Poppy and Rudy, and Aunt Karen and Maddie. She got some QT with everyone and even told Mom-Mom that she was staying there for 2 weeks! :-) It wasn't THAT long though, just a long weekend - 5 days.

In Myrtle Beach, Joseph and Jeff golfed during the day at True Blue, Caledonia, and Barefoot Landing - Fazio. It was the '2nd Annual Myrtle Beach Invitational'. (I think that's what they named it, LOL.) I think they're at 1 win a piece so next year's trip will be a tie-breaker! Here's some pictures from Caledonia:
The road leading up to the Club House. It's an old southern plantation, and it's beautiful!!!
At the 7th hole
Working their way up to the green
The bridge where they waited out the rain. Luckily it let up after about 15 minutes and they were able to finish the round.
Jeff knocks one in
This picture cracks me up. It looks like Joseph took it while hiding in the bushes! LOL
While they golfed, I shopped at Tanger Outlets, toured Myrtle Beach, read, watched some movies, and even took some naps. It was heaven! Most people would probably think that was pretty boring but it was so nice to have all that time completely to myself, :-)

At night, we checked out some nice restaurants and then hit some bars - Margaritaville and Crocodile Rocks - and a comedy club. We really had a lot of fun. This would come as a shock to most who know me (now) but I even drank (a lot, lol)!
Tired already but the night is still young!
(Joseph saying "why are you bothering me?" because he was snoozing! LOL)
Hey, I'm not tired! Let's go out!!!
We finally saw the beach before we left on Monday. Jeff took us to the fishing pier he likes to go to and it was really cool, with a bar at the end of it! We decided next year's "Invitational" is going to include a day off for fishing and hitting the beach!
View from the pier
Joseph checking out the sharks and sting rays in the water. (Really!)

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Thanks to my boss, we got tickets to see the Phillies play the Braves tonight at Citizen's Bank Park. Joseph and I had never been to the new park yet (always say 'we should do that' but then never go!) and Katie had never been to a ball game at all. I wasn't sure how she'd do b/c she's not the kind of kid to stay in one place for long but surprisingly she sat in her seat (or somewhere near it, lol) almost the whole game and was somewhat interested!
Heading In... It was really nice in there! It's no Vet's Stadium though, LOL.
I had lots of good times at that old stadium. Hopefully we'll make many more here!
They gave Katie a certificate because it was her first game. :-)
We had awesome seats! This was our view:
Katie hammin' it up for the camera!
Foul Ball!
Daddy and Katie
Grounds CrewJoseph put Katie on his shoulder's during the 7th inning stretch.
As you can tell, she did NOT like it one bit!
Katie wasn't too sure about the Phillie Phanatic. She said he scared her.
She started to poop out around the 8th inning but she stayed awake until we were half way home.
Hmmm, how will all of the people up top get down from all the way up there???Katie and Mommy
The last pitch - It was a shut-out!
Congrats to the Phils! Final Score 5-0

At the Park with Casey and Kirstin

Today we met up with Casey and Kirstin at the park so the girls could play together. And of course, Casey and I got to catch up on our gossip, LOL. We'll definitely have to do it more often because they had a lot of fun! And the weather today... so beautiful! A perfect Spring day! :-)
Katie scootin'
(You wouldn't believe the problems that horn caused! 2 kids & 1 horn = not pretty!)
So cute! :-)It was downhill so they got to enjoy the ride. Coming back up, Casey and I got to carry the scooters! lol
Katie was a little monkey, climbing everything she could!
The girls were hiding from us in the tunnels because they didn't want to leave!
You can't catch me!
Well, at least they were both looking the same way. Too bad it wasn't towards the camera!
